The Money. The Power. The History. Visit the Museum of American Finance, the nation's only independent public museum dedicated to celebrating the spirit of entrepreneurship and the democratic free market tradition which has made New York City the financial capital of the world.

The Museum's home on Wall Street is located in the heart of New York's financial district. The 36-story 1927 landmark building was home to the Bank of New York through 1998, and has retained much of its original architectural detail. The Museum occupies 30,000 sq. ft. on three floors, including the building's majestic grand mezzanine banking hall.

With its extensive collection of financial documents and objects, its educational programming, its publication and its oral history program, the Museum portrays the breadth, importance and richness of American financial history. By showcasing financial history and practices, the Museum promotes a deeper understanding of risk and reward, helping people to become more financially independent. Permanent interactive exhibitions feature the financial markets, money, banking and entrepreneurship. There is also a room dedicated to Alexander Hamilton, as well as galleries for changing exhibitions.
